Rolex bracelet service
Care for every detail. Including the bracelet.
A well-fitting, carefully finished bracelet contributes to the comfort and appearance of your Rolex.
Othrys Watches offers Rolex bracelet sizing, disassembly, cleaning and refinishing, using specialist tools and paying close attention to the original construction and finish.
Bracelet sizing
A comfortable fit starts with the right length. Where possible, I adjust your Rolex bracelet by removing or refitting links and assessing the clasp adjustment. Afterwards, I check the link connections and the operation of the clasp.
Bracelets differ in construction. Screw-secured links and press-fit connections each require a suitable approach and the right tools. I assess which adjustment is appropriate for your bracelet before starting work.
Specialist bracelet disassembly and cleaning
Othrys Watches has invested in specialist tools for disassembling bracelets, including Jubilee bracelets with press-fit link connections. A screwdriver alone is not sufficient to disassemble every Rolex bracelet.
The correct tools allow suitable connections to be separated in a controlled way. Individual link components and connecting pins can then be cleaned and inspected before further treatment and reassembly.
The options depend on the bracelet construction, previous work and its condition. I first assess whether disassembly is worthwhile and technically appropriate.
Polishing, brushing and straight graining
Polishing a Rolex bracelet requires attention to its different surfaces. I adapt the treatment to the bracelet finish and to what the material can safely accommodate.
- Polishing: carefully refreshing the lustre of originally polished surfaces.
- Brushing and satin finishing: producing an appropriate, even brushed finish.
- Straight graining: precisely restoring straight, consistently aligned grain lines.
- Preserving transitions: keeping the boundaries between different surface finishes clearly defined.
Preserving material, geometry and the original appearance comes first. Not every scratch needs to disappear at all costs. Leaving a deeper mark may be preferable to removing excessive material in an attempt to eliminate it.
Precision and preservation of geometry
Refinishing a bracelet involves more than surface polishing. Flat surfaces, crisp lines and characteristic transitions define its appearance. They call for a controlled approach, with attention to direction, pressure and material removal.
Before starting, I discuss the result that is appropriate and achievable. The original form and proportions remain the guiding principles.
Assessment and approach
- We discuss your requirements, whether that means a better fit, thorough cleaning or refreshing the finish.
- I assess the construction and condition of the bracelet, its connections and clasp.
- We agree on the treatment and realistic expectations. Work begins only with your approval.
- I carry out the agreed work carefully and check reassembly, connections and the clasp.
Cleaning and refinishing do not reverse wear in links and connections. This bracelet service does not promise to correct bracelet stretch or play caused by wear, or to remove every mark.
