Ik pas je Rolex horlogeband aan door waar mogelijk schakels te verwijderen of terug te plaatsen en de afstelling van de sluiting te beoordelen. Na het aanpassen controleer ik de verbindingen en de werking van de sluiting.<\/p>\n<p>Niet iedere band heeft dezelfde constructie. Geschroefde schakels en geperste verbindingen vragen elk om een eigen werkwijze en passend gereedschap. Niet iedere Rolex band kan uitsluitend met een schroevendraaier worden gedemonteerd.<\/p>\n<p>Met het juiste gereedschap kunnen geschikte verbindingen beheerst worden losgenomen. Zo kunnen afzonderlijke schakelonderdelen en verbindingspennen worden gereinigd en ge\u00efnspecteerd, voordat verdere behandeling en montage plaatsvinden.<\/p>\n<p>De mogelijkheden hangen af van de constructie, eerdere ingrepen en de staat van de band. Ik stem de behandeling af op de afwerking van de band en op wat het materiaal nog toelaat.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Glanspolijsten: de glans van oorspronkelijk gepolijste oppervlakken zorgvuldig opfrissen.<\/li>\n<li>Borstelen en satineren: een passende, gelijkmatige matte afwerking aanbrengen.<\/li>\n<li>Straight graining: rechte, gelijkmatig gerichte slijplijnen nauwkeurig herstellen.<\/li>\n<li>Overgangen behouden: verschillende oppervlakteafwerkingen duidelijk van elkaar gescheiden houden.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Behoud van materiaal, geometrie en oorspronkelijke uitstraling staat voorop. Niet iedere kras hoeft koste wat kost te verdwijnen. Vlakke oppervlakken, scherpe lijnen en karakteristieke overgangen bepalen samen het karakter van de band. Ze vragen om een beheerste behandeling, met aandacht voor richting, druk en materiaalafname.<\/p>\n<p>Ik bespreek vooraf welk resultaat passend en haalbaar is.
